Anna Sees the Young Jesus
Luke 2:22-38 (especially vv. 36-38)
This Savior Story describes a piece of God keeping His promise to the world…the One who would save humanity from eternal separation from God. God also kept a personal promise to a man named Simeon. Then, God chose to show His particular and meaningful love to an 84-year old woman, Anna, who witnessed it all.
**Habakkuk 2:2-3 ~ “And the Lord answered me: ‘Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.’”
**Psalm 62:1-2 ~ “For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.”

The day Jesus walked from far away to raise a twelve-year-old daughter from death. Love of the Savior stories are true events, and the words Jesus speaks are directly from the Bible (ESV). The scenes are expanded to give us a sense of what it was like for the individuals experiencing the love and compassion of God. The biblical references show the place in the Bible where the story and Jesus’ words can be found.

We continue on the journey to experience God’s love, value, and purpose in our lives. Sometimes we hear God loves us, but do we believe it? Today, we share more about experiencing God’s love and care for us.
Psalm 36: 5, 7 ~ “Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds … How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
Isaiah 54:10 ~ “‘For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,’ says the Lord, who has compassion on you.”
